SolaX and Axle Energy partner to help battery owners earn more — by connecting SolaXCloud to Axle's VPP

Share my #SolaXStory

What if your home battery could do a little more than store solar for the evening — and quietly put money back in your pocket at the same time?

That's the idea behind a new partnership between SolaX and Axle Energy. Starting in the UK and France, eligible SolaX battery owners will be able to connect their battery to Axle's virtual power plant (VPP). The battery can then support the grid during busy periods, promoting more renewable energy — and earn rewards for doing so.

The main benefit: guaranteed earnings from your battery

For customers, the offer is simple: turn your SolaX battery into a new income stream. Eligible battery owners can earn at least £10 per month, guaranteed, by allowing their system to help balance the grid when it's needed and contribute to fighting climate change. There's no need to switch energy suppliers. And there's no extra hardware to install.

Participation is designed to be low-effort

  • Join via SolaXCloud -> Services -> VPP

  • Works with all energy suppliers

  • Managed automatically in the background

You keep full use of your battery as normal. The VPP only uses flexibility at the right moments, typically when the grid is under pressure. The rest happens quietly in the background.

Why this matters for the grid

As more wind and solar come onto the system, flexibility becomes essential. A VPP groups thousands of small batteries across homes and businesses and uses them as one resource. That helps ease pressure on the grid, makes better use of renewable power when it's available, and reduces reliance on fossil-fuelled generation during peak times.

For customers, it's a simple way to get more from their battery. Opt in once and you're set — no technical know-how, no ongoing effort. From there, the system runs automatically, turning stored energy into regular rewards.

What Axle Energy says

"We believe the future energy system should work for everyone," said Karl Bach, CEO at Axle Energy. "By partnering with SolaX, we're making it easy for households and businesses to play an active role in supporting the grid, accelerating renewable energy, and fighting climate change — while also earning real, meaningful rewards for doing so."
