Located in Friedrichsdorf, Germany, the MANITOU Group site combines office and workshop facilities with high year-round electricity demand. To make better use of on-site solar generation and support its energy-intensive operations, Solargie GmbH designed and installed a SolaX-powered energy solution combining solar PV, 52.5 kWh of battery storage and EV charging.

The system features multiple SolaX X3-ULTRA hybrid inverters and a high-capacity battery storage system, providing a flexible energy solution tailored to the site's demanding electricity consumption.

High-capacity solar PV + battery storage + SolaX EV Charging Solution

Location: Friedrichsdorf, Germany

Customer: MANITOU GROUP

Installer: Solargie GmbH

System: High-capacity solar PV + battery storage + SolaX EV Charging

Inverters: 3 × SolaX X3-ULTRA Hybrid Inverters

Batteries: 3 packs of SolaX HS25 × 7 batteries, 52.5 kWh total battery storage

The Challenge

With both office and workshop operations running on the same site, MANITOU has significant and continuous electricity consumption throughout the year.

The key challenge was to make better use of available solar energy while supporting the site's high electrical loads. The system also needed to provide installers with sufficient flexibility during system design and straightforward installation and commissioning.

The SolaX Solution

Solargie installed a complete SolaX energy solution consisting of:

  • Approximately 100 kWp of solar PV

  • 3 × SolaX X3-ULTRA hybrid inverters

  • 3 packs of SolaX HS25 × 7 batteries, 52.5 kWh total battery storage

  • SolaX EV charging infrastructure

The high-power hybrid inverters provide multiple MPPTs, giving installers greater flexibility when designing string layouts, optimizing configurations and planning cabling.

The modular battery design also simplifies installation. According to Solargie, the stackable batteries and pre-configured communication cables help reduce installation effort and make commissioning smoother.

Designed for Flexible Commercial Applications

For Solargie, one of the key advantages of SolaX is the flexibility offered by its high-power hybrid inverter platform.

Multiple MPPTs allow installers to adapt string configurations to different project requirements, while the system's installation-friendly design helps streamline the installation process.

“SolaX offers high-power hybrid inverters with multiple MPPTs. This gives us a great deal of flexibility when designing string layouts, optimizing string configurations, and planning the cabling.”

Project Impact

The Manitou project demonstrates how a commercial site with high electricity demand can combine solar PV, battery storage and EV charging to make greater use of renewable energy on site.

By integrating these technologies into one energy system, the project provides a practical approach for businesses looking to optimize solar energy utilization while supporting evolving energy needs.
