Tokyo, Japan – March 16, 2026 – SolaX Power has launched its new J1ESS-HB-2 residential energy storage system at the Conrad Tokyo Hotel, alongside the introduction of its TRENE 1MWh C&I energy storage solution. The event also marked a further step in building a localized partnership framework with Hanwha and Yuasa.

SolaX strengthens its long-term commitment to Japan with new residential ESS launch and expanded local partnership framework

This launch reflects SolaX's continued investment in the Japanese market. The company is advancing from product introduction toward a more integrated approach that combines product design, local service capability and long-term partner collaboration.

Designed for the realities of the Japanese residential market

The J1ESS-HB-2 is a second-generation residential storage system developed with a clear focus on Japan's installation conditions and user expectations.

Designed for the realities of the Japanese residential market

The system features an ultra-slim battery of just 150 mm, making it well suited for homes where installation space is limited. A wireless design simplifies installation and reduces time on site for installers.

The battery capacity can be flexibly expanded from 4.9 kWh to 19.8 kWh, a range designed to align with Japan's residential subsidy framework while enabling homeowners to maximize incentives and meet growing backup power needs.

The system delivers up to 9.9 kW of output and supports 75A high current load, enabling stable operation of high-demand household appliances such as air conditioners and induction cookers.

To ensure reliable performance in colder regions, the system is equipped with a battery heating function and can operate at temperatures as low as -30°C.

These features are designed to meet the practical needs of Japanese households, including limited installation space, high power demand and reliable performance throughout the year.

Strengthening local service and market access through partnerships

SolaX continues to build its presence in Japan through close cooperation with local partners.

Strengthening local service and market access through partnerships

Hanwha will provide a nationwide after-sales service network, ensuring fast response and consistent service quality. This plays an important role in strengthening long-term customer confidence in residential energy storage systems.

Yuasa contributes to market access and channel development, and supports the integration of storage systems with photovoltaic solutions. This collaboration enables more flexible product offerings and helps accelerate adoption in the residential sector.

Together, the partnership brings product capability, service infrastructure and market reach into a more coordinated framework, supporting sustainable growth in Japan.

Expanding beyond residential: launch of TRENE 1MWh system

Alongside the residential launch, SolaX also introduced the TRENE 1MWh C&I energy storage system.

The new system supports a wider range of applications, including projects under Japan's Feed-in Premium (FIP) scheme. Solutions are available for different grid configurations, including low-voltage and high-voltage scenarios.

This expansion reflects SolaX's ongoing transition toward a full-scenario energy storage portfolio, covering residential, commercial and grid-level applications.

A long-term approach to the Japanese market

Japan remains a key market for SolaX. The country's energy transition continues to be driven by policy support, increasing demand for energy resilience, and the need to reduce dependence on imported energy.

Since entering Japan in 2018, SolaX has focused on building a localized business foundation. This includes dedicated quality standards for Japan-bound products, a growing local team, and a nationwide service network with continuous response capability.

SolaX continues to develop its business in Japan based on four core principles: product quality, continuous innovation, long-term commitment, and partnership-driven growth.
