Project Overview
The Mamanuca Islands, a remote and pristine archipelago in Fiji, have long faced severe energy constraints due to their geographic isolation.
Diesel Dependency: The local community and resorts relied heavily on expensive, imported diesel fuel, which was difficult to transport and environmentally risky.
Environmental Sensitivity: The traditional energy model posed a constant threat to the fragile marine ecosystem through carbon emissions and potential oil spills.
Energy Instability: Frequent power outages hindered local development, healthcare services, and the high-end tourism experience.

The SolaX Solution
SolaX deployed the AELIO Liquid-Cooling Energy Storage System, integrating PV generation, battery storage, diesel generators, and intelligent energy management into a unified hybrid microgrid.
Designed specifically for demanding commercial and industrial applications, AELIO enables seamless coordination between renewable energy and conventional generators, maximizing solar utilization while maintaining continuous power supply.

The remote monitoring capability allows both local operators and SolaX engineers to optimize performance, detect issues proactively, and ensure long-term system reliability.
Results
Since commissioning, the resorts have experienced significant operational improvements.
50% Reduction in Diesel Costs
By maximizing the use of solar energy and battery storage, diesel generator runtime has been dramatically reduced. During the first year of operation, the project achieved approximately 50% savings in diesel costs, helping protect the business from rising fuel prices.
Greater Power Reliability
Instead of operating near maximum capacity, diesel generators now typically run at around 30% load, reducing stress on the equipment and minimizing the risk of unexpected outages during peak demand.

For resort operators, this means continuous electricity for guest rooms, restaurants, refrigeration, and essential services—even during periods of extreme weather.
Building Sustainable Energy for Remote Communities
The Fiji project demonstrates how the SolaX Aelio Energy Storage System enables reliable, intelligent, and sustainable power for off-grid commercial applications.

Whether powering island resorts, remote communities, industrial facilities, or microgrids, SolaX continues to help businesses replace diesel dependence with cleaner, smarter, and more resilient energy solutions.
