Solar-storage-diesel hybrid system for the Presidential Villa in Nigeria

  • Commercial and Industrial Solutions

Project Background

In Nigeria, frequent grid instability, voltage fluctuations and unexpected outages remain major challenges for commercial and industrial users. For critical government facilities such as the Presidential Villa, power reliability is not just a requirement — it is essential.

To address these local energy challenges, SolaX delivered an integrated hybridsolution, combining advanced liquid cooling ESS-TRENE, Nexus Zero AC Switching Cabinet and high-performance three-phase inverters. The system was designed to ensure stable, continuous and efficient power supply under complex grid conditions.

The Challenge

The local grid in Nigeria is highly volatile, with frequent disruptions that can impact daily operations, equipment safety and overall energy efficiency. For a high-profile site like the Presidential Villa, the power system needed to:

  • Maintain stable power supply during grid fluctuations and outages

  • Improve energy efficiency and operational reliability

  • Support seamless coordination between PV, battery storage,  and grid

The Solution

SolaX provided a tailored hybrid energy solution featuring:

  • 6 × TRENE Liquid Cooling Energy Storage Systems

  • 1 × AC Switching Cabinet

  • 1 × X3 FORTH Three-Phase Inverter

  • 1 × X3 MEGA G2

three phase inverter

With liquid-cooling technology, the storage system delivers enhanced thermal control, higher safety and more stable performance, especially in high-temperature environments. Combined with the AC Switching Cabinet and SolaX three-phase inverters, the project enables intelligent energy dispatch and smooth switching between different power sources.

This integrated architecture allows solar energy to be utilized more effectively, while battery storage helps absorb grid fluctuations and diesel generators serve as backup when required.

Project Value

The solution precisely addresses the key pain points of local C&I users in Nigeria by improving energy stability and reducing the impact of unreliable grid supply.

By integrating solar generation, liquid cooling battery storage and diesel backup into one coordinated system, SolaX helps local users build a more resilient, efficient and future-ready energy system.
